Animal Physiotherapy Ltd, Donna Wills won Animal therapist of the Year at the 2021 Animal Star Awards!
On Saturday 5th March Animal Star awards, set up in 2016, announced its 2021 winners. We finally exit covid and can get suited and booted for the awards once again! The awards were set up by Mary Burgess in 2016 and gives recognition to animals and humans alike who do extraordinary things for one another. There were over 600 nominations across 13 categories, across the UK.
Donna can’t express her gratitude enough to be winning such an amazing award.
Donna Wills set up Animal Physiotherapy Ltd in 2005. She started out as a veterinary nurse, but felt strongly that rehabilitation was essential to healing and long happy lives, so she furthered herself in this industry.
Donna set up several clinics in the south before focusing her time in Bracknell and Swindon so that she could make some family time.
Donna has been seen in the public eye a lot as she also was the physio for the pet spa at Harrods and has her own online course teaching people how to massage their dogs. This is also available as the Puppy Massage DVD.
Donna says she “loves rehabilitation as it gives owners and dogs the best healing outcomes”. She works closely with many supportive vets and they send her their patients frequently as they see how much more can be achieved when the owner is given a home exercise plan to rebuild the muscle lost.
For Donna, her absolute passion lies with the oldies. She says “seeing a dog go from hobbling, to wanting to play and trotting again fills my heart with joy. The oldies deserve it the most as they have given the whole of their lives to loving and caring for their furparents so then it’s our turn to give them something back. It reduces pain and their faces are so grateful”.
It goes without saying that we are incredibly proud of Donna and she very much deserves this award for all the hard work, love and dedication she puts into her client’s wellbeing and rehabilitation. Congratulations’ Donna!
