National Pain Awareness Month – Acute vs. Chronic pain

September is National Pain awareness month. Follow our socials to make sure you hear Donna as she shares her info and tips on pain.

Today we kicked off explaining the difference between acute and chronic pain. Acute pain can be useful. It tells you something was bad and helps you remove yourself from the problem, like standing on a nail. Chronic pain is of no use. It’s annoying, exhausting and debilitating. It can be hard to identify when in the early stages but it has no value and we have to get on top of it in our pets.

Please do email us if you want to ask anything about chronic pain, or try our LOAD form to see if your dog is experiencing pain. You can use our questionnaire on our arthritis assessment web page.
