Saffron

Hello and welcome to Saffron. She is so sweet.  Over the last few months she had been struggling to get off the floor, looking weak and sore.

There had been a history of more stiffness over one hip as well.

On exam, I could see some muscle wastage. This needed to be addressed. On discussion, it was also clear we needed to make some changes around the home. Change around the home can be the biggest help in the smallest amount of time as just simply putting a rug on a slippery floor can instantly improve the grip the animal has and they can instantly get up easier. There are many adaption that may be able to be made in the home, but rugs are one of the ones most frequently needed adding, in this day of modern home with hard floors.

Alongside starting the physio, the vet was also continuing their investigations.  They then also diagnosed diabetes.

Saffron now has had her diabetes controlled. It’s fabulous news as she is now a new dog and her owners lable her a puppy again!

We must never forget, they can have more than one problem at once and especially as they age.

This was a fabulous story of teamwork. Saffron now has regained the lot muscle and is moving pain-free. She is full of energy and now needs her maintenance sessions for her back pain. This is all that is left as an issue and I’m thrilled to say, its not reducing her life happiness in any way, but when she comes for her massage and therapy, she really does relax and enjoy it.

Well done, Mum, dad and Saffron. Keep up the good work with the home exercise regime!
